Willington FC is a volunteer run Football Club, based in South Derbyshire, providing grassroots football for Willington and the surrounding areas. We are the largest organisation within our village with over 380 registered players and 60 volunteers that include committee members, managers, coaches and helpers, all who have an important role in ensuring our Club is run successfully and professionally. All our managers and coaches are FA CRC checked and have a minimum of an FA Level 1 coaching qualification that includes safeguarding and first aid. We also have 5 coaches who are FA Level 2 qualified.

We are affiliated to Derbyshire County FA and come under their jurisdiction for all football matters, and our emphasis is about participation, and we fully support the FA’s “For All” program and encourage anyone, no matter what ability level they may be, to get involved in playing football.

Our Club has teams from under 7 level through to Adults, as well as a development team and a Soccer Academy, with training and match day facilities at the Power Station football pitches and Twyford Road playing field. Our club continues to grow and the 2019/20 season will see 22 teams representing the Club in the following leagues, Burton Junior Football Leagues, Derby City Football League, Derby Junior Football League, Derby Taverners Sunday Football League, Midlands Junior Premier League and Midlands Regional Alliance Football League.

FA Charter Standard accreditation is awarded to Clubs and Leagues rigorously adjudged to be well-run and sustainable, and which prioritise child protection, quality coaching and implementation of the FA’s “Respect” programme, and we are proud to announce that once again Willington FC have been awarded their Charter Standard status for the 2019/20 season.
